Chicken Soup for the Soul

I am sick.

I have the runny nose, congestion, drainage, and today the tickle in the throat signifying those oncoming coughing spells. The Kleenex box and I have become good buddies in the last two days.

I was starting to feel sorry for myself about having to continue on at work and not having any time to get sick...but also that I didn't have anyone to "pamper" me...you know, how you miss your mom babying you when you don't feel well?

Well, to my surprise, about 1:15 this afternoon, I was hacking my way through a piano lesson, when who would knock on my office door but my Lafayette "Mom"--Amy Knolhoff! (Technically, she's more the age of a big sister, but...never mind...) In she pops and hands me a little baggie with Motrin, Sudafed, a multivitamin, and zinc tablets. Then she gives me a bottle of water and a bottle of Diet 7up AND a warm bowl of chicken noodle soup! And she gives me "doctor's orders" to take the pills IMMEDIATELY. Of course, I complied. And the chicken noodle soup was SO GOOD! What a wonderful surprise! It's so neat to see God provide a friend like this one to encourage me!

Ahhhh, Kudos to Amy. What a great "mom/sister/friend." Beth, you need ANYTHING, call me - I'd be glad to lend a hand. It's stinks to be sick and without someone to "momma" us, I HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT.

Aww, Beth. I'm sorry! You didn't LOOK sick, that's for sure. And you even had to play extra for my practice and our ladies' ensemble. I hope that you are at home right now all snuggly in your bed. You've earned it!

Sis, sorry to hear that you're not feeling good. But I'm glad that happiness found you in the form of a friend and some chicken noodle soup. I'll be thinking of you while I'm soaking up the sun in Cancun. Hope you get feelin' better soon.

Well, I hope that you will be feeling better soon and YAY for Amy mother you to make you feel better. Even if you feel icky, remember to smile! "Losers, wear a frown, but Smilers, wear a crown!"

That's aweseome. I should have known you didn't look your perky self in practice last night...poor girl...just be thankful you didn't have an 3 hour plane ride and then have to navigate the streets of a foreign country while racing against the likes of Rob and Amber! I hope you feel better soon!

I'm so glad Amy is there for you. What a touching (wipe eye) story of God's care.

Hey, hope you're feeling better. As you know, I got to meet David and Amy and the kids last week. They're super cool. Glad you had someone to take care of you.
See you Tuesday. S
