TK & Rachel

Yay! Congratulations to TK & Rachel, winners of the 12th season of the CBS show "The Amazing Race," which I am addicted to. There was a group of us watching the finale on Sunday night (Sarah, Leah Miller, Courtney Blake, and Sarah Denny) and we were SO HAPPY when Rachel solved the puzzle first, because we were really rooting for this young couple. They were just so calm and nice on the whole race--both to each other and to the other racers. Yes, nice guys CAN finish first! I am excited that Phi Koegan said during the interview on the Early Show Monday morning that they are planning for Season 13! I can't wait until it starts again!

Spirit Week 2008

Spirit Week at FCS is over for another year. It's always a great time of dressing up in weird costumes, culminating in the Homecoming Game Friday night. I had fun video taping the parade of costumes again this year and look forward into turning into a DVD for the school.
POLAR DAY--Monday was polar day. I dressed as hot chocolate!

Tuesday was Ag Day (supposedly standing for Agriculture, but of course there are other interpretations...like silver, etc.)

CIRCUS/ZOO DAY was the theme for Wednesday. I went as a zoo tourist.

Thursday I didn't have Sarah take a picture of me because I just dressed in black to accompany the Junior class skit.

Friday was school colors--Maroon & Gold!
Unfortunately we lost both our girls' and boys' homecoming games--the girls lost by 1 point with a shot right before the buzzer, and the guys lost by 4. But they were both very competitive games!

What's Up?

I figured since I hadn't posted in a while I should take a minute to update. I had such a good break at Christmas--AWAY from the computer! I had a nice time being with family and friends for the holidays. I enjoyed a wonderful time in Minnesota for a couple of days after Christmas with my aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents. If you think of it, pray for my grandma who has dymensia and other ailments and just had to be moved to a nursing home. She is not dealing well with the adjustment and has a hard time remembering the daily routines. She does better when my grandpa can spend time with her there.

I also enjoyed a wonderful time in Michigan with my parents (and getting to see my sister Rachel and her husband and their dogs). I love the U.P. weather with cold and lots of snow! (No, really, I do.) We got to play a lot of games like Apples to Apples, Balderdash, Rook, Pictionary, Dutch Blitz, and Boggle. I love playing games! We also got to relax, watch movies late into the night, and sleep in! I also got to read a couple of the latest Karen Kingsbury books: Just Beyond the Clouds and Between Sundays. So it was a very nice break from the routine. Juju and I logged in quite a few miles on the odometer, too! (Mapquest says we drove about 1420 miles.)

I must admit that I was not looking forward to the start of school again, but this past week back has caused me to realize that I DO enjoy my school routine, and I can actually say now that I am glad to be back to work!
